Acropolis


Acropolis Hill in Athens also called "Sacred Rock" of Athens, is among the most important sights of Athens Greece and the default capital.
Acropolis is the upper town and this is because in ancient times for security reasons and to be defended more easily center was built on a ridge on a hill or the highest part of town.

Acropolis was first inhabited in the Neolithic period. ParthenonIt is most important and most famous monument of ancient Greek civilization, often considered the symbol of Greece. It is dedicated to the goddess Athena Parthenos, the patron of Athens. Construction lasted nine years, and external decorations have been completed six years later, in 432 BC The monumental building was initiated by Perikles, Pheidias supervised by the famous Athenian sculptor, while Kallikrates Iktinos and architects have been building.It is built in the Doric style, with eight columns on each of the girls on both small and large 17.

Nike's TempleBuilt all ionic style, the temple is dedicated to the goddess Athena Nike. On one of his four daughters (eastern front) is found a bas-relief depicting a conference of the gods, while the other three are in various battle scenes.
